Southwest Virginia students will have the option to learn online this year through a new virtual academy.The Region VII Virtual Academy is the first regional approach in the Commonwealth to offer online learning.Thee academy’s new director is a former Washington County, VA administrator who says it was designed out of necessity as a result of not wanting to have that burden on teachers to do both in person and virtual instruction. Scott and Lee counties have opted out.
