The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is encouraging Tennesseans who lost loved ones to COVID-19 to apply for the assistance that is still available from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help with funeral expenses. Tema Director Patrick Sheehan said, “We’ve had about 38 percent of those eligible in Tennessee for COVID-19 funerals to apply with FEMA for the benefit.” The registration process begins by calling FEMA’s COVID-19 funeral assistance phone number, 844-684-6333.
