A proposed Tennessee law could help prevent thieves from stealing parts from your vehicle as a number of catalytic converter thefts take place in Tennessee and throughout the country.Sponsored by Sen. Paul Bailey (R-Sparta) and Rep. John Gillespie (R-Memphis) the bill would require any person or business involved in the buying or selling of used vehicle parts to keep records of such transactions.Records would have to be kept for 3 years from the date of the transaction and include customer’s address and driver’s license number along with any item numbers associated with the part.
