The Washington County Board of Education has hired the Tennessee School Boards Association to lead its search for the system’s next director of schools.School Board Chairman Jason Day said Friday he and his colleagues hope to have a new director under contract well before the current head of the school system, Bill Flanary, retires on June 30.“We hope to be able to offer a contract on March 15, and announce the new director on March 22,” Day said.The new director would officially take office on July 1, one day after Flanary leaves the position.
