Second Harvest Reports 20 Percent Drop in Donations

Officials with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee are asking for the public’s help in restocking their shelves after an already harsh winter.

The executive director of the food bank, Rhonda Chafin, told the Johnson City Press than donations are down nearly 20 percent compared to last year.

She says the food bank has gotten 300,000 fewer pounds of food than at the same time in 2018.
