Officials say a driver drove her car through a guardrail and went down an embankment at the intersection of Tri City Crossing and Kendrick Creek Road. The female driver was responsive after the crash. She was hoisted up the hill in a basket by Kingsport Fire. She was taken to Holston Valley Medical with unknown injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

Firefighters responded to the Big Springs Road address. They believe the fire started in the home’s laundry room and spread to the kitchen. No one was home at the time…no one was injured. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Greeneville Food City Locations Raise $7500 for Area Food Bank

More than $7,500 was donated to the Greeneville-Greene County Community Ministries Food Bank as part of Food City and Kraft’s annual Race Against Hunger Campaign.

The three Greeneville locations raised the money, which was donated shortly before Christmas.

The month-long promotion started around Thanksgiving, and allowed customers to add the donation to their order total. All of the proceeds raised stayed local and went to local charities.

Arby’s Classic Winds Down Monday

The Arby’s Classic winds down today. The day begins at 1130, when Union takes on Orem High School from Utah in the consolation game.

There’s also a big matchup between two local teams, when Gate City takes on Dobyns-Bennett. It’s the first time those two teams have met since 2012.

Buford and Wenonah, Alabama will play in the 3rd place game at 5 oclock, followed by the championship game at 630 between Knox Bearden and Carmel Christian.
