Elizabethton City Leaders Change Rules for ‘Pub Bars’

Less than 90 days after its passing, the Elizabethton City Council has already changed the city codes for the so-called ‘pub bars’ downtown.

The city council this week changed the serving times and the amount of beer the breweries can make each year.

The new rules will allow beer to be served until 11pm, and doubled the allowed amount of brew, from 7500 gallons per year to 15,000.

City leaders hope the new alcohol changes will bring visitors to the downtown area.
