Couple Arrested For Theft

An Abingdon couple is charged with stealing several dozen items from their nearby neighbors. Police went to their Black Hollow Road neighborhood home and found nearly $30,000 worth of stolen items…from a washer and dryer to furniture, paintings, and medieval costumes. Bobby Widener and Shannon Roe now face charges.

An Abingdon couple is charged with stealing several dozen items from their nearby neighbors.

Police went to their Black Hollow Road neighborhood home and found nearly $30,000 worth of stolen items…from a washer and dryer to furniture, paintings, and medieval costumes.

Drug Scheme Goes To Court

According to court documents, seven companies and four men are charged in a $1 billion telemedicine fraud scheme that deceived tens of thousands of patients and more than 100 doctors. The eastern Tennessee U.S. attorney’s office in Greeneville announced the indictment of six Florida companies, a Houston firm and four Florida men on charges of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and a list of other offenses.

Drug Fraud Charges Filed In Fed Case

(GREENEVILLE) – Charges are filed in a federal courtroom.

Businesses in Weber City that have been affected by the recent construction on Route 23 seem to be out of luck when it comes to getting help from either the county or state. Representatives went before the Scott Co board of supervisors and requested financial assistance from the county and a property tax break for all the affected businesses. All that was rejected as officials said the speed of the work on the road is speeding up.

Early Voting Begins in Tennessee for November Midterms

Early voting gets underway today in Tennessee.

State elections officials are urging people to vote early in the November midterms in what’s expected to be a record turnout for a non-presidential election.

Early voting records were already broken back in August as voters selected nominees and elected county officials in primary races.

You will need ID in order to vote early, and a college student ID does not count- it has to be a license or state ID, valid or otherwise.

Early voting runs Mondays through Saturdays and ends Thursday, Nov. 1.

Abingdon Couple Found with $30K of Stolen Items

An Abingdon couple has been charged with stealing nearly 80 items from their nearby neighbors.

Police went to the 16000 block of Black Hollow Road and found nearly $30,000 worth of stolen items- everything from a washer and dryer to furniture, paintings, and medieval costumes.

28-year old Bobby Lee Widener and 33-year old Shannon Roe now face charges including grand theft.
