Police Chase Leads to Meth Trafficking Charges for Rogersville Woman

A two-county police chase ended last week with the arrest of a Rogersville woman on meth trafficking charges.

Police say 26-year Ashlei Shanks was spotted driving her Ford SUV at speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour on Highway 11-W.

When police went to pull her over, she ran from Hawkins County into Grainger County and finally to Morristown, where she was arrested.

Inside that SUV, police found a purple case containing 1.7 grams of meth and several empty plastic baggies in a glasses case. She is due in court tomorrow.
