Abingdon’s ‘Meadows’ Already Near Capacity as Construction Continues

Ground was just broken, and dirt is still being moved around, but it appears The Meadows- the latest retail complex coming to Abingdon- will be full to capacity when it is open.

Stephen Spangler, the vice president of real estate and site development for Food City’s parent company, K-VA-T, told the Herald-Courier the plaza is already at 94 percent occupancy.

Joining the Food City in that complex will be- among others- a branch of Eastman Credit Union as well as a Holiday Inn Express. Construction to the outlying buildings is expected to start next year.
