Tenn. Senators, Senate Hopefuls Toe Party Line on SCOTUS Nominee

One of the two candidates for US Senate in Tennessee is holding off on judgment over Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.

Phil Bredesen said Brett Kavanaugh “deserves a fair and timely confirmation hearing” and he’ll hold judgment until after hearings.

Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn toed the party line, immediately saying Kavanaugh “will make a fine Supreme Court justice”, calling him a strong constitutionalist with a record of upholding the rule of law.

As for the two sitting Senators, Bob Corker, called Kavanaugh a well-respected jurist. Lamar Alexander called Kavanaugh well-qualified.

His Senate confirmation vote is expected before the November election.
