Beech Mountain Ordinance Could Lead to Shutdown of Tour Company

A tour company that offers high country tours on UTVs and ATVS is in danger of shutting down because of recent vote by the Beech Mountain city council.

Last night, the council voted 3-2 to amend an ordinance stating golf carts and UTVs will only be allowed on certain roads to get to and from the golf course.

That puts Monie McCourty’s business, Off The Grid, in a sticky situation. He told NewsChannel 11 the council was ‘hostile’ to him and ‘just wanted him off the mountain.’

He now has until the end of the month to get the vehicles out.
