Elizabethton HS Students Create Profile on Cold-Case Murderer

Students in one class at Elizabethton High School have developed a profile of a suspected serial killer who killed six women back in the early 80s.

The class partnered with a podcast called ‘Out of the Shadows’ to develop a profile on the man. Members of the class told News 5 based on research, they believe the killer was a truck driver based in Nashville or Knoxville.

The so-called Bible Belt Strangler murdered six women across Tennessee, West Virginia, Arkansas and Kentucky- including one woman whose body was found in Greene County in 1985. Only one of his six victims has ever been identified.
