I’VE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH REPRESENTATIVE PHIL ROE’S OFFICE THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON AND I CAN CONFIRM BOTH ROE AND HIS WIFE CLARINDA WERE ON THE TRAIN. THEY WERE NOT INJURED IN THE CRASH, BUT ROE, WHO IS A DOCTOR, RENDERED AID TO THE INJURED — INCLUDING THE DRIVER OF THE GARBAGE HAULER. ROE WAS AMONG SEVERAL LAWMAKERS WHO TRIED TO RECUSCITATE THE MAN. HE WAS ULTIMATELY PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.
