BVU Board Of Directors Considering Rate Hike

(BRISTOL, Va.) — BVU cable subscribers may soon be digging a little deeper into their pockets to pay their bills.

Last week the authority’s board of directors put forth a proposal to increase rates by 10 percent effective March 1.

According to the board the hike is needed to cover increased programming costs including fees paid to carry local channels.

The board will have a second vote on the hike and if approved it goes to the city council for hits approval.
