Pomrenke Gets Jail Sentence On Contempt Conviction

(ABINGDON, Va.) — Former Judge Kurt Pomrenke is sentenced to two months in jail for his conviction on contempt charges for violating a 2015 order regarding evidence from his wife’s corruption trial.

According to court papers Pomrenke was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and has 14 days to appeal the sentence.

Earlier this week the Virginia Supreme Court removed Pomrenke from the bench because of his actions to share evidence about Pomrenke reaching out to witnesses from his wife’s corruption trial.
